This week has been exhausting but also pretty sweet. As some of you may know, my day job is in the education industry and this week is Teacher’s Day!
It is the golden period when all the kids have angelically sweet moments and my heart just swells with love and happiness. I have been humming my favourite happy tunes this entire week and thought it would be nice to share the joy!
Let us all take a few minutes and lift our spirits up with some feel-good songs. Another positive thought: it is going to be the weekend! Yay!
Corinne Bailey Rae – Put Your Records On
Stevie Wonder – Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)
How about some music for a sluggish Tuesday?
I have been listening to two artists I have just discovered recently. Their albums have been on repeat everyday and I am loving their music so much!
The two artists are Lianne La Havas and Leon Bridges. It is a strange coincidence that their names both start with L.
Lianne La Havas has released two albums – Is Your Love Big Enough? in 2012 and Blood in 2015. I adore her voice – it is full and really beautiful to listen to. Her sound is a mix of folk, soul, and jazz with smooth and fluid melodies.
Lianne La Havas – Green & Gold
Lianne La Havas – Unstoppable
Do you like to listen to music while you are working? I need music to be in the background especially when I am in my creative bubble – designing, illustrating or painting – but I absolutely cannot have any music on when I am writing.
If you are in the mood for some new music, this is the post for you! I have compiled ten of my current favourite new songs according to the number of replays in my iTunes to share with you today (: Most are pretty mellow, perfect for tiny head bopping or feet tapping while doing your work!
Jaymes Young and Phoebe Ryan – We Won’t
Beck – Dreams
Widowspeak – All Yours
Disclaimer: This is not a serious music post.
Here is something about me – I have a habit of quoting lyrics during conversations and suddenly texting lyrics to my boyfriend and friends.
Since it is the weekend, I thought it would be fun to share some of the songs that I quote on a regular basis. How regular, you might ask? It has been years, and I do it daily. These songs aren’t my favourite songs at all! They just have memorable lines that have been stuck in my brain as appropriate everyday phrases since the time when I was young and impressionable.
Read on for a short guide to some very quotable songs and the appropriate situations in which to sing them. I have also shared my current favourite song of the week at the bottom of this post! That song is good.
Disclaimer before post: Please bear with us as we tinker around with the style of our header image for posts. I am in a design funk today, so… the image above isn’t very nice. SORRY. Comments over how ugly it is will be greatly appreciated.
I sense a ramble coming.
Let me explain my discontent with this banner image. I really wanted to include my cat’s paw because I am a crazy cat lady. However, the original shot wasn’t fantastic – I angled everything wrongly which totally threw me off when I was trying to lay out the header image in Photoshop. #honesty.
Alright. Let’s get on with this music post. Good music coming up!
